Does the fact that PI is described as rock scare anyone else?

It does make me nervous because I'm not a fan or rock. Guess we'll see what the song sounds like in a few hours.

Nope.  If it's pop-rock, it'll do well in the US, (i.e. Y&I)

I thought that's country? :awkney:

doesn't scare me it just bores me and makes me roll my eyes at her conforming to what everyone has been telling her to do, but since she has a hipster attitude about pop since she started being a flop she gets pressed and tries to hard. Period.

I have to disagree with you. Her conforming to what everyone has been telling her would be taking the Justin Bieber route and putting out the safest of pop album with all the big hitmakers. Her choosing a more Rock influenced style is probably the most honest and artistic decisions she's made. Everything from her tours to her style has always  showed she was more soul/rock than dance pop. It's not her having a hipster attitude, but rather putting out something that's more honest and real to who she is and what's she'd like to be.

I would take a well crafted rock / indie song that barely charts over her usual pop "hit" formula now. We've had four albums of songs that follow the same blueprint in hope of success, it's about time she creates something new and something that she enjoys. I hope no one here is holding out for a Poker Face 4.0

Exactly!!!!! She can't just do the same pop **** over and over again.

Kind of.  It's a pop song with elements of rock and country.  :icega:

I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

Bette Davis

I was, but then I remembered The Queen, which is perhaps her most rock song, is one of my favorites :classy:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

Lol she's LEGIT been told by fans, critics and her idols to make rock music because they find her old music inauthentic and instead of making music that's fun she took the serious route. She just can't stand the fact she lost all her amazing hype and overrated praise so she's trying to get it back. That's probably why i loved ARTPOP as an album because it was fun, authentic, her peak of musicianship on an album and it pissed off the hipster critics and idiot fans. She needs her old attitude but with ARTPOP's intensity not some "i'm trying to be a legend" ****

Except she loved rock since before she was famous.

I personally think she's not conforming with this direction, if she was, I'd expect another ARTPOP

loving rock doesn't mean she can make it, we all love musicians and not one of us can sing (not even the fans who apparently 'can' are good nn)
