Is this the first time we know about the singe before the album?

It seems like with Gaga, she always announces the album first then we get the single details afterwards. Is this the first time that its been reversed? Not really counting The Fame cause its different with debut albums/singles.

We're not talking about Kesha though :poot:

On topic, I'm not sure for The Fame Monster, but for Born This Way, the album and the single were announced together at the 2010 VMAs, and ARTPOP was announced a year before, so maybe.

With Born This Way she announced the album summer of 2010, we didn't know the title track was going to be the debut single until New Years

I don't know... I mean I assumed Born This Way was going to be the lead single since she sung it but I guess technically, she did announce the album?
