That was awkward from the beginning. Sia has no logical reason to put a child in a nude outfit and even refer to it as 'the naked suit.' At least the colour of this one doesn't sexualise her as much. Also, there's no choreography involving moves that could be awkward to watch a child in a leotard performing, so that's another plus. But she needs to stop using Maddie in every video. I thought she was at least going to use a new child when she did that Alive video, but no, we're right back to tried and tested. For God's sake, let that child have a childhood, one that isn't defined by an adult they aren't even related to. Sia's repeated need to put children in her videos is getting creepy, quite frankly, especially when she involves adults in the same production. I don't understand why full-grown men would feel comfortable dancing with a child no matter how much money they get paid. I don't like to see children thrust into this crazy business, especially when these videos are being watched by millions, some of which are going to be malicious types. I don't know how Maddie's mother allows this (but then again, she put her on Dance Moms, so she's clearly a crazy stage mother). By the looks of this, she'll still be around for this next album. Sia's got to start finding a new way of expressing herself soon. This recycling of concepts is getting tiresome. And by the way, I was honestly shocked when I found out that apparently this video is a tribute to the LGBT community after the Orlando shooting. I didn't get that at all. I assumed it was a video depicting the struggles of child sex slaves. They want to break free and find the strength...but by the end, we realise it was all a dream and they'll never be free, hence the crying. Thought this is what "we are your children" meant. Expected an appeal for a children's charity to come up at the end. Came here to find everyone gushing about the LGBT message and was thoroughly confused. Sia's imagery can be very...ambiguous, to say the least. If she wanted to send such a message, why use children? Why not use adults from the LGBT community? Or would that go against her 'must use children in every video' motto? At least I'm not the only one who thinks so. I'm not keen on Sia for a number of reasons but her lack of any real insight (at least in her recent material) is annoying for me, especially when I'm being told to love it by everyone. Chandelier was her one big piece of brilliance but everything else is pretty pale in comparison. And yeah, looks like I'm not the only one who can't get into Kendrick either. Pretension seems to be the way to go these days and if you don't like it, you're demonised. There's so much more to being inspired than having those attributes. You can do all those things and be terrible. Just because you do creative things doesn't automatically make them good. Look, I'm against sexualised music videos like you, but 95% of them are sexualised? Come off it. She may have power in her voice, but it can be very strained and polarising and she screams from her throat. I certainly think she'll do damage to her voice if she keeps singing this way. She sure can write a pop hit but it tends to be quite a safe, pedestrian one (she even admits Titanium was pure cheese but she's glad that some people could find strength in it even so). She's putting focus on young talented dancers who are children and should be in school and having a childhood, not being put under a microscope for the masses (putting the focus on adult dancers who need the money would be better). And telling a story is a dime a dozen in the music world. It shouldn't be bigged up as something amazing, it should be seen as just doing what should be done. It's like praising a singer for being able to sing well - that should be a given! I guess Sia seems to be inspiring and original to a mainstream pop audience. But in the wider music world...she's at the back of the class. Chill ✌🏼️ Rock On and A Last One For the Road 🚬

Cameltoe Chariot 15,277
So sad to see how many of you are more interested in tearing down a potential threat to Perfect Illusion's impact rather than celebrating a non-exploitive, original tribute to the existence of the LGBT community and the lives we loss in the Orlando shooting. Did you miss the body count? The bullet holes in the "club" set walls? The lyrics that very plainly describe a gay club as a safe place to come alive and be the greatest you can be, even if just for a night? This is full of so much passion and it saddens me to see anyone call it unoriginal. I haven't been this moved by a song/music video in a long time. I couldn't give a rats ass if people don't like the song, or not a fan of her music. I just don't get the relentless rudeness that some members have towards such a positive song, made by someone who works her ass off and puts nothing but positivity into the world. I just don't get the constant hate that people feel they need to have for everything.

This video was brilliantly made and quite beautiful. Possibly the most moving artistic tribute to Orlando.

Literally 80% of pop music is created by people other than the artist, and 95% of the time it's a video of girls dancing half naked with alcohol. She's a powerhouse vocalist, with an insane ability to write a pop hit, and she's creating videos that put the focus on talented young dancers, to tell a story (in this case about the Orlando shooting). It is so strange to me that you could consider THIS uninspired and unoriginal. Sia herself is talented and inspiring in general but when you literally repeat yourself constantly, it becomes uninspiring specially when her music is generic when we know she can do real unique music.
