Why do some of you hate Katy Perry?

I liked her a lot in OotB and even wished her success.

The way she came for Gaga since the Alejandro tweet however, and how she always tries to out-quirk Gaga (often with suspiciously timed similar antics) and appearing to be better without actual talent irks me to no end.

I like some of her music but she seems shallow as a person and has no integrity as a """singer""".

She is a product of the music industry, when she first came out with her One of the Boys album I liked her and recognized her as Travis McCoy's girlfriend I though she was cool. Then she blew up and she was America's it girl and she became a bitch. She threw shade at Gaga for using religion in her Alejandro video then steps out wearing a skin tight Jesus dress. Called Lily Allen fat by saying "I'm like Lily Allen, just a lot thinner". She was becoming very popular and she let go to her head.

And then during her teenage dream Era when Fireworks came out everyone was standing up for Gay Rights and doing things for the LGBT community and then all of sudden she was the odd one out since Gaga released "Born This Way" and Kesha released "We R Who We R" so goes and says oh yeah "Fireworks" is about gay rights too. No it wasn't you just made it fit in with the music video. But I don't necessarily hate her because hating someone takes up way too much energy. I just dislike how she is and how she gave into being a fake, a product of the music industry.

I don't hate her, I mean I love Double Rainbow, Ghost, and This is How We Do is a guilty bop I hate to admit

but when I see her getting all those top 10s and #1s I can't

GGD likes to make fun of her cos she's the pop princess that GP loves while Gaga does artistic things with her music and has great voice but GP doesn't love her all that much. (mostly the ARTPOP VS PRISM era)

A lot of Katy's songs are just ok and yeah she butchered Double Rainbow live so can't forgive her

but hey at least she tried singing live (some performances were ok!) unlike Britney so I like her more! lol

Okay, can we stop acting like Katy purposely tried to sabotage Applause? In case any of you forgot, Roar was scheduled to come out the week before Applause however after leaks Gaga moved up the release date, it makes more sense to blame Gaga for trying to sabotage Katy if I'm being honest. And then with Make Me, I'm not sure if you guys understand how hard it is to hire a skywriter last minute, or get on Good Morning America last minute, or completely package a single with artwork and a video last minute. Katy was not trying to sabotage Britney, she simply had a surprise released planned for when Britney surprise released. I feel like you guys view Katy as some evil malicious lady who is out to get everyone when in reality she is just a pop singer trying to to make bubblegum pop. I am not a Katy stan but I really hate this unnecessary hate.

Her voice (even studio audio) makes my ears bleed and so I don't get the appeal. Sure she has a GP friendly image but how can anyone get past that irritating grating voice (which turns from irritating to downright terrible when she makes an attempt at singing)?

 

Does anyone else remember when we used to call her Ms Keene?
