No it isn't, at all. In this day and age it should be applauded that Britney has sold almost 90,000. That's more than some artists that are popular right now, take Selena Gomez as an example. Make Me is doing fine in the charts and no one could've seen her release an album like this as it's her best album in years.

Still she has not reached the top spot. Taylor Swift or Drake can pull one million in one week even in the streaming era. Beyonce has not had a smash for ages ,yet her albums are selling like hot rolls. Britney could do it too in the past and should continue to do so, she is a breathing legend. I root for her but she has failed to get her two last albums on top of the Billboard chart, which is an underperformance.

Just because you're not #1 does not mean it's a commercial failure

Glory is such a cute pop album. I wished they'd released it during a slow week.

I feel like Britney is in that awkward place of still being a huge star, but without pushing the units of a huge star. I think this album will have longevity though, and more possible hits than BJ did. It might be a sleeper hit and be a success for her by the end of the era.

Calling this an underperformance would be an understatement.

All things considered, with that competition, especially after Britney Jean :flop:, I feel like nobody expected Glory to go #1. She performed within expectations.

So you expect the album to stay on the charts for longer rather than drop off them swiftly???

Correction Beyonce' had many smashes on the black (urban/r&b/rap/hiphop) charts... Plus, Formation was a smash overall as well as Drunk In Love. Being #1 isn't everything. There are albums that have sold 100,000 and got number one before the 2010s. Britney is doing okay for her position. I don't consider it an underperformance. Anyone would be a damn fool to think she would sell any more than considering she never promotes and you know the 2007 line I'm sure you heard. She's doing pretty good. Cut Britney some slack.

Make Me flopped and 88k sales is a poor performance.

She should release DYWT as her next single with a big video to get her era on track :classy:

In what world is Make Me doing fine. Tanking on radio, tanking on streaming. Held up on sales by a discount, VMA's, carpool karaoke....it's going to be out of the Top 10 on iTunes and back to selling less than 40k a week. Maybe less than 30 again?

Its literally been in the top 10 since the VMA's last week

How is that a flop :air:

As for the people surprised that it only just beat BJ, can't wait to see your meltdowns when LG5 sells less first week than ARTPOP, music sales are only getting worse month by month

Hey Normandie! Please post only Gaga charts and sales in 'Charts and Sales'. All other artists go to 'Entertainment News'. Thanks!

I'm glad for Britney :flutter:
