DrewPa 3,762 Posted September 4, 2016 Share Posted September 4, 2016 It was pretty clear to me since Cheel to Cheek project this album was going to be a lot different, I am always surprised by how a lot of fans seems to carefully avoid obvious thing going on since YEARS: She clearly never had the intention to do anything to replicate The Fame Album... Not because she didn't want to, but simply because she don't care. I mean, Born this way commercially speaking could have been a lot more successful with a more "Mainstream" production, she simply decided not to follow that path; ARTPOP is hard to judge, since the original idea (an EDM extravaganza in two volumes, one more commercial ad the other more experimental) has been most likely skipped and altered by Interscope, in an attempt to release, a more commercial album, à la The Fame, precisely. If you're waiting for Poker Face, prepare to be disappointed. We just have to wait and see if the album is going to have a strong potential in terms of sales and critical reception. I hope so. If it is not... well, this Fanbase is going to decrease drastically, and it is not necessarily a bad thing. Sorry for the arrogance, but at a certain point a person that claim him/herself a "Little Monster" should understand the difference between an industrial created, autotuned generated, not-very-smart conceived, musically analphabet and interchangeable with million other Pop stars, and Lady Gaga. I kind of expect a new song to not have that same vibe. The hype is cool but I'm getting into my "OK, I'm absolutely ready now so shut it and play the music. Thank you!"
