It must be nice to not have to worry about doing your job, Bobby

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

It's like 'trust me, she will do well ;)'

don't see how that's gonna happen. Maybe they actually thought radio, Spotify, Youtube and (social) media exposure would be enough?

the party here when her first performance is announced though

... and the meltdowns when it barely helps PI :derpga:

The Voice is premiering Sept 19th, have they announced any performers? DWTS is also having its 2nd episode of the season on the 19th, both shows pull in 10M+ viewers but the Voice's audience tends to skew lower.

Doing a Voice/DWTS performance followed by the video premiering  the next day could be a good strategy.

the voice live start in october tho

I think they thought so :air: And with everyone going crazy about the song (iheart, people that heard it and so on) they probably thought it would sell by itself :air:

Label and Bobby only really care about $$, not BB positions. They're not going to postpone promotion for a single so that the album will have a bigger chance of going #1 :laughga:

You'd expect them to promote PI now so it would peak on radio in early November, boosting album sales from release week to black friday and providing good momentum to release a single come January. I just guess that's not happening? Gaga's gonna have to do all possible promo for this album to sell well though. Can't wait.

Maybe this will be the kind of single that never enters top 10 but has insane longevity (september-december) and does moderately well on radio, but just not enough or at the right moment for the song to really peak. I can't imagine they planned a second single before the end of 2016, to be honest.

Label and Bobby only really care about $$, not BB positions. - not completely true and this discounts trend that make labels lose money say about it. Also what I said would benefit them cause they would promote both at the same time. I don't think this short span between single and album is for no reason

"They're not going to postpone promotion for a single so that the album will have a bigger chance of going #1" - i didn't mean just that but also there is not any good promo spot atm either. And maybe they want to build this instead do big promotion in begining.

Also why i said this is cause they spend the biggest promo spots for applause in the begining of it's run and then later when it rose in airplay they already wasted spots so they couldn't make it repeak

Marry the Night on New Years Eve teas.. But at least then it was 5 singles deep of an album selling 8 million copies, so it was kind of understandable. :air:

Judging by the video teaser, if the rest is similar, it won't do anything for her on iTunes.

That would be ridiculous though. They released the single six weeks before the album for a reason. If they planned on making the song big only two weeks before the album they would've released it two weeks before the album.

Interscope's perfect delusion for the first two weeks probably was:

- Gaga releases Perfect Illusion

- hype from Gaga's name and the iTunes banners make it a stable top 3 song for a week, song goes top 20 on Spotify WW and radio picks it up at the same speed as Applause

- Gaga spends the first week finishing the album while doing radio interviews to hype the album. Song sells steadily so no real promo would've been necessary in the first week anyways. NFL and AHS promo give significant boosts to the song, changing between #2, #3 and #4 place (iTunes) for all of Saturday through Thursday. The visit to the UK ensures a big radio hit there, or at least for the song to stay top 10 throughout the week till it gets A- or B-listed.

- songs starts falling out of the top 5 on Friday, but no real worries just yet. Radio has been picking up the song greatly and it's in the top 10 WW on Spotify.

- video released Tuesday, song goes into top 5 again thanks to the video release. Promotion starts for the song to do well in weak countries (possibly Japan, Australia, Germany, etc).
