She did a jazz album, she starred in a TV show, she hasn't done anything to piss the public off with controversial clothing or choices. But maybe I'm overthinking all of this. Maybe the problem isn't her, maybe it really is just the song choice. She did go #1 on iTunes in 60 countries. The appeal for her is still there. I think they're aiming for a low second week drop. Don't see how Super Bowl announcement would cause more people to pre-order the album anyways, but perhaps I just don't understand the magnitude of the Super Bowl. I'm genuinely shocked that Rise didn't do better than it did. I thought with the backing of the Olympics it would kinda explode. This has been a weird year for music. There was a blind item a while back that stated that NBC was planning heavy promotion for Rise, but they pulled the promo when she performed it at DNC.
