Sia is still dropping just as hard as Gaga... how is such a drop even possible? If it was abnormal Sia wouldn't be facing it too, but I've never really seen a lead single drop so much and so quickly.

I don't get what Gaga + Bobby + Interscope are doing at all. Nothing makes sense really.

- 3 years out of the pop scene

- 5 years since her last global hit (Born This Way)

- Her last album underperforming big time considering Born This Way numbers

With this knowledge, in what world it is logical to just release a song while:

- You're album isn't finished yet

- There are almost no promo spots

- The lead single isn't radio friendly at all comparing to all the other songs on the radio

- The album is planned a month after the first single, with no time for damage control

I just don't get it. And Gaga acts like everything is cool, saying:

- she knows what her fans want

- She can't wait to tour

- She wouldn't refuse a Super Bowl offer :air::air::air:

And don't come at me saying we need to stay positive, because #50 just 10 days after release is horrible

/ Rant over

Before there was love, there was silence

Experiment with Shazam:

3 minutes without Shazaming myself:

77746 -> 77751

3 minutes with constant Shazaming by me: (according to my counter, I managed to shazam it 21 times in 3 minutes)

77752 -> 77788

CONCLUSION: SHAZAM COUNTS YOUR SHAZAMS WITH NO LIMITS!

(or a big radio station somewhere played PI :laughga: )

I will single-handedly make PI a hit in the Netherlands anyways :whitney: she's coming for that top 10 on Dutch Shazam and the radio DJs will seethe! :whitney: two sold out nights at the Ziggo Dome here she comes :whitney:

yeah but I still hope they have booked some performances.. At least for the fans to enjoy the music live before the tour..

mindtrappa: I don't think she's concerned with that right now. She was initially in talks to do both the VMAs and Global Citizen and pulled out of both, so.

With 'Perfect Illusion' going tits up, I'm sure there will be one or two pre-release tracks the week or two before.

A single flopping the label can deal with, but they won't want it to handicap the album too much.

mindtrappa: Their expectations for the single and album are not what you think they are. They're pretty much working this like a debut indie record.

Andy French said: ↑

Cue the cries of "Oh so she's trying to be INDIE now?!?!"

mindtrappa: Ha. But seriously. She's been given a lot of freedom here, with the only major label suggestion being that it needs to be universal. Other than that, she has free reign over how it's promoted and how it sounds. They even helped suggest people like Father John Misty, etc. They aren't aching for some massive hit.

i mean i really don't get her. if she doesn't want success anymore why even bother getting radio deal and other stuff. Or they maybe thought she has enough hype for single to smash without promo ?
