Luc 4,775 Posted September 18, 2016 Share Posted September 18, 2016 so I made a chart that displays: first column: Countries with Spotify (excluding Andorra and Cyprus) second column: streams of the top 5 combined as of 3 September 2016 third column: share of total fourth column: population between 15 and 24 years in thousands fifth column: streams of the top 5 combined per person 15 to 24 years old. This is the most interesting column, as it displays the relevance of Spotify by country. sixth/seventh column: relevance of combination of countries as share of total of streams. So, the countries where the most people use Spotify: 1. Sweden 2. Norway 3. Denmark 4. Finland 5. Iceland 6. the Netherlands 7. New Zealand 8. Singapore 9. Australia 10. Ireland so basically Spotify is 7 times more popular in Sweden than in the US, and Spotify is irrelevant in Brazil, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Taiwan and Slovakia (the countries where PI has performed the best on Spotify). Spotify also has a LOT of room to grow in all countries besides Scandinavian countries. If Spotify was as popular in the rest of the world (only countries where Spotify is already available) as in Norway, the #1 song would get over 500 million streams a week.
