How did they not come up with a proper promo plan in two years? C2C had more prep than this.

There was another manager involved :emma:

They probably did. My guess is they simply miscalculated things and counted on the same things as with Applause to make PI a hit: radio (interviews), TV (NFL commercial, AHS promo, Scream Queens). PI has less momentum than Applause apparently, maybe because it simply isn't meant to be or maybe because there's no good way for people to discover the song.

They better have at least 2 TV shows with performance planned for next week :grr:

Seriously though... What happened.

Applause, despite leaking and lack of management, still had a promo plan.

I actually was expecting this the whole time. There is always this time after the initial release that the the song starts rolling and the weekend effect pushes it even harder and eventhough everyone needs to stay calm noone ever does and there is always a lot of drama.:emma:

I'm patiently waiting for the promo and the single to start gettng love from the gp.:koons:

One phrase.

KEEP CALM AND HAVE PATIENCE.

Hoping they're saving things for the album. But then again, what's the point of releasing a single 1,5 months in advance if you don't promote it till your album drops anyways. She should've released the single a week before the album in October. At least then there'd be some time for the song the grow. If the song grows now it can still have a positive effect. However, if it flops prepare for the salty media reports when the album drops.

I really don't want this album to drop after a messy single again

It's been 3 years since a proper single from Gaga and now her new single is already basically out of the top 30 in a week. At this rate she's gonna pull less than 2k next week. We're allowed to meltdown :madge:

Exactly,we finally got a new song after the long wait of three years, why ruin new era's fun over this. It's been only 8-9 days since PI came out and everyone's been talking about it's commercial success(including me) since day 1.We have a new MV coming out on tuesday,14 new tracks next month and possibly a documentary about the album creation process in near future, why don't we focus on that :rockstar:

If PI is not meant to be a hit,it won't be a hit. It's not like this whole era is ruined.Gaga can still get a hit with 2nd/3rd single.Bickering here about the promotional strategies or single choices is not gonna help

Spoiler

I never thought i'd say this but this all this chart thing has gotten on my nerves. I've been visiting this thread several times a day for the last week to check PI's chart positions and it's gotten really tiring.Of course I want her to see on top of the charts in 80+ countries and break every possible record there is,but if she doesn't,i can't let this ruin my excitement for the new music.Gaga seems to be enjoying working on this album and so should we be.I love PI and everything that she puts out and that's what should matter at the end of the day :unicorn:

P.S.-sorry if i came across as preachy :neyde:

PI is like in the 70s in France

Not ready for the drop on official chart...

But the music videos always have good effects on iTunes France, so can't wait for Wednesday, it'll have 2 days to sell better.

Not gonna happen unless her call-out scores are AMAZING. I doubt her call-out scores will be good though, it might not be pop enough. Luckily people aren't that predictable so there's a chance it gets good call-out scores.

Hopefully it reaches 60% familiarity so it can get call-out scores

I personally don't want a second single before the album.. I want things to go as planned and no quick switches because Gaga can't deal with that. Let her promote this song as much as possible so it becomes a MTN-sized hit at least and moves some albums. Jumping to a second single too soon isn't going to help.

That moment when the fanbase is scrambling for a MTN sized hit. Before we know it we will be hoping for GUY levels of success :diane:
