djBuffoon 12,115
I'd say "Lush Life" on PBS was her finest to date. Superb vocals, emotional, grounded, and overall, a master class. Gaga's vocals at the 2015 Oscars were truly shocking, but upon repeat viewings, I wish someone had directed her in what to do with her hands. She kept repeating gestures and sweeping arm movements, and as a rule of performance, the more times you repeat those, the less effective they are. Still, her soprano range had me floored. I honestly didn't know she had that in her. "Swine" at Swinefest was another one. Raw, visceral, absolutely brilliant.
Bad Monster Kid 13,140
Oscar performance top 3. Depends on your taste I guess. This still remains in my top 5. Early 2014. At an emotional low point in her career. I get goosebumps listening to the bridge especially considering what she was going through. Also, Diane Warren was in the audience as well as big wigs from the music industry. A lot of people took notice of her talent this night. Bridge: "Now, ain't it good to know that you've got a friend When people can be so cold? They'll hurt you, yes, and desert you And take your soul if you let them, Oh, but don't you let them"
