We're still killing in both cases though :madge: The end result is still a dead animal

The point is that one is for a purpose, the other is not. Killing animals for a healthy diet is justifiable because that's just how the food chain works. Killing animals for fun is obviously wrong.

Just my 2 cents on this discussion. Endangered species my ass, why do we have to control nature? Species adapt and evolve and some disappear, like it's always been. Is the world just our little cute Zoo?

We have the ability to "control nature" in the best and worst ways. Humans could wipe out every species on this planet with the touch of a button. But when we have the opportunity to control nature in a good way, why would we NOT do that?

There is a BIG difference between killing an animal for sport and killing it for food.

The end result in both cases is a dead animal :neyde: Is an animal killed for food less dead than an animal killed for sport?

What point are you trying to make? That it's natural to kill for fun?

Can you not? So if I eat meat I should applaud them or else I'd be a hypocrite? Should I perhaps kill my pet dog as well whom I love more than anything in the world?

Well how is it different to kill a cow or a chicken because you like its taste and killing another animal just for hobby? xD

As I said before, one of them results in extinct animals :neyde:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?

That was just me f*cking around :madge:

In conclusion, if you are killing animals (directly or indirectly) you have no right to be outraged by this *on the grounds that taking another animal's life is wrong.

But I agree that killing endangered animals isn't a wise choice since there aren't many of them left.

Well in the past animals that were eaten for food got to live a happy life in nature first and then got killed. Now they're kept indoors and never experience a good life.

We'll just have to agree to disagree.

True. It's not ideal but it's still for a purpose. I'm not saying the ends always justify the means, but there are humane ways of breeding animals, e.g. the difference between free range and battery hens.

I don't agree with PunkTheFunk that meat eaters do not have the right to get outraged.

However, the way animals in animal farms raised for slaughter are treated is abominable. They're miserable for their entire lives, tortured, kicked around. We now know that many animals are intelligent creatures and they do have feelings (seriously are there people who still deny this?). I don't like it. But I don't like green food either so what do you know humans are savage assholes and we're selfish and we excuse this behaviour on the excuse of sustenance.
