prince 4,688
But if it's still going to be the same show with the same artists, performances and hosts then people still aren't going to watch it? They pride themselves on being heavily focused on pop culture yet the show always feels dated and try hard. They need to get a bit more creative and shake up the concept of the show

I think that's probably the reason tbh, she wants there to be an aura of mystery. She herself doesn't do much self-promotion and hyping, it's mostly done for her by the press and her fans. Just like the album release(s), she just kinda shows up and drops the bomb and makes it seem effortless. I think that's partially the reason.

It seems like Bey wasn't too interested in the VMA's. Especially in here acceptance speeches. They certainly bent over backwards for her... Who else inexplicably gets a 16 minute performance? It still doesn't really explain why they wouldn't let MTV reveal anything until the day of the show. Perhaps she wanted to appear as non-affiliated with them as you can possibly be when you're performing

Slayer 9,227
Maybe they should just cancel it. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!
Stephen 30,431
They should have had a better host, a real comedian that's popular with the young people. Britney should have opened the show, and someone should have told her that performance was weak. She does better every night in Vegas she could've BROUGHT it. Rihanna should have done 1 long performance instead of 4 littles ones. Killed the hype for me. Kanye should have performed instead of premiering his boring video. Drake should have performed! Honestly they should have had Carly Rae Jepsen perform bc she's so huge in the stan world rn. Joanne the Scammer should have presented an award too. Ray of Light 8,134
Their core audience doesn't own / watch cable television anymore. Good that they're catching on and trying to mend severed links.

Their problem is that the show's quality is very low nowadays But those awards shows are also on basic cable channels. Everyone can access them. Many young people (like me) don't pay for cable. That's the main demo audience. And of course there's the factor of loss of interest.
Born To Slay 10,996
They're acting like it's really the internet fault they got **** ratings, it's absurd. The AMAs and BMAs, which are targeted at the same demo, still get good ratings. They pull what MTV pulled a few years ago. Last years AMAs had 11m viewers, that's mor then almost any VMA show. VMAs are trashy af so it's not comparable to Grammys or Oscars. Tbh, I'd rather watch Kopy Paste sing live than watch the VMAs
nikola 4,342
the problem is not in the internet, the problem is actually that their show is bad......i mean just look at this years show......we had Rihanna perform 4 times.....which got boring after second performance..........And we had Beyonce perform for 20 mins just cause.........we need something different I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"
