I never watch the VMAs so I dont know what usually happens but the show YESTERDAY was obnoxious because of the hosts.

The performances range from GREAT to meh but the hosts were just getting into my nerves every after segment and the random shrieky talkative girl yesterday:grr:. Ugh.

It gave off the image of obnoxious TRASH and no CLASS at all. If I wanted that I would go to the nearest dumpster.

(Note: I am NOT talking about the performances just the hosts.)

I've never watched the VMAs in my life. MTV doesn't care about good, interesting music anymore and only book B grade artists. Also, viewing habits are changing. Nobody has time to sit down and watch an award show for hours, we want to watch the parts we care about, whenever and wherever we want.

Last night's VMA's was a **** show overall, but it had it's moments (and we're still talking about it), so it's hardly "over." But it's definitely lots some of its luster.

HOWEVER...

You cannot fairly compare ratings of network TV award shows (BBMA's, AMA's) against basic cable (VMA's). Network TV is in so many more households, it's not a fair comparison.
