I'm a Madonna stan, but Bey definitely has the potential to snatch Madonna in a few more years.

Gaga used to. I'm waiting to see if she still can with LG5/PI.

1) She doesn't; first of all because she's still kinda local...she doesn't have even a 10% of the audience that Madonna has. Have you realized that Bey is very praised by critics and stans, but she's still kinda 'out' of the GP? Madonna's story is the other way around. I respect your opinion, of course, but Madonna is still untouchable.

2) She won't. She's already on another league. No better or worst, just another...synthony. She doesn't want her crown, she's looking for another thing.

Madonna deserves that title. Madonna is groundbreaking and iconic. What did Beyonce teach in her videos? That black people carry hot sauce? The true Queen will reign again maybe not in her lifetime, but they'll be kissing her feet some day. Like they all should be doing now.

"My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."

Some of you are way too bitter. I agree in that Madonna's videography is more iconic as a whole, but at least, the awards are going to someone who is actually talented and able to put on a damn good show.

I wonder how much Bey's team payed for this, after all the VMAs seems to be eating whatever she does.

I love how you say this but as soon as anyone else says that gaga payed for her golden globe, her women of the year award, you would straight away defend her. So why make the same accusations?

Beyonce has been a solo artist since 2002 and it's been 14 years since she split up with Destiny's Child. She puts out her albums every 2/3 years and I can definitely recognize she has evolved as an artist. Her last two albums really stand out from the rest of the mediocre ones which are being released on a daily basis. Beyonce had some great moments and I find her eponymous album much better and more artistic than Lemonade.
She has been working hard for her success, you can't deny it, she has this X factor and she has the best selling tour of 2016. These facts only prove she is loved by the general public and she does not need a smash hit in order to stay relevant. She's a legend in the making but I would not compare her to Madonna. They are playing in different leagues. Madonna paved the way for the artists like Beyonce, Gaga ,Rihanna and the list goes on and on.

When it comes to Gaga, she has always been artistic but what pains me to say is that she doesn't put out as much material as she used to, thus she still needs to demonstrate with her upcoming music she can be regarded as a pop legend. Ever since the Born This Way era came to an end, she hasn't been that prolific. She only brought out ARTPOP and it feels as though this era wasn't fully finalized and she was not able to show her artistic vision. I adhere to the view that Gaga is also on her way to become a pop legend and I am positive she will shower us with iconic moments. She is one of the most interesting pop artists the world has ever beheld. We were blessed to see her swift road to stardom. We have the iconic video for Poker Face, Paparazzi is one of the most intriguing videos for many. Bad Romance is just a masterpiece and so is the Telephone video ;) Who else would release such bold and controversial videos like Alejandro, Born This Way and Judas ? Gaga is capable of creating a masterpiece and we know it. Applause is still one of the greatest videos I have watched. I stand by her and I am positive she still can provide us with unforgettable music moments and I am all here for that :)

I am so glad she has decided to back away from her "old self" and now that she has been collaborating with other accomplished producers, she can metamorphose once again :) Cannot wait for the Perfect Illusion video and for the whole album concept :)I can tell she has an ace in the hole, She does not need 10000 awards to be iconic. She is still one of the most daring as well as innovative pop acts out there ;)

P.S. Sorry if any mistakes crop up, I am not a native speaker ;)

She killed it tonight, Formation is very good and whatever the **** you want, but she can't even TOUCH Madonna, and that's a fact.

But it's not against Bey. I'd say the same about Rihanna, Brit and even Gaga (who was actually the only threat to her, back in 2010/11). But, up to now, no other artist can beat the amount of impact that Madonna's music, videos and performances have made all over the years. She's still untouchable.

Madonna is in a second place since confessions on a dance floor. Beyonce is overrated af, her songs are not iconic besides "Single Ladies".

1) Beyonce might be local, but she sure ****ing owns the US. Didn't her Formation Tour beat Madonna's highest average attendance per show? But I suppose in that regard, she might not be able to touch Madonna. In others, however, Beyonce is already starting to. We'll see.

2) True. But that doesn't mean Gaga also can't excel in pop to the same levels as Madonna. Besides, Madonna was an actress, too, you know. So at this moment, Jazz is really the only thing that Gaga has that Madonna didn't. And while Gaga has done spectacularly in Jazz, she hasn't really established herself as a mainstay Jazz artist yet, and her work in Jazz have all been covers. Personally, I think Gaga needs to release original Jazz pieces in the future before she could solidify her presence in Jazz. She is still, at the present, mainly a pop star, and Madonna is the best metric we currently have.

I'm not expecting much, but hopefully Gaga will gain 5 more VMAs from LG5.

Sounds reasonable. :golfclap:
