I like it that way actually. I'M GLAD she didn't go this year, its terrible. Rihanna is good, she's always good, and Beyonce is too...but it wasn't the VMAs if that makes sense. Of course I would have loved to see her perform that year, but her sweeping the awards and just seeing her in general was enough for me. We got an iconic performance the year before and another the next. The way I look at it is the fact Gaga is even making an appearance is a big deal. I don't know how she feels about award shows now, but I know she mentioned her dislike of them back then. So she couldn't prepare and rehearse a performance. And knowing how MTV just jumps the bandwagon, they probably begged her to do it. And the ones saying she doesn't attend award show not to perform. This was a different occasion, she was the most nominated ever and the true bet to win everything. Of course she'd go. She didn't perform that night (2010) because she had performed the year before that, she was nominated for Bad Romance and was the center of attention, she also announced Born This Way. She was on a break between albums so it'd have been dumb to perform Bad Romance when you're about to release a new album next year. She and her team wanted to keep her in a quiet place before they started promoting Born This Way, otherwise people would be complaining about how overexposed she became back then, because there always has to be something to complain about. She didn't perform this year because well, the single isn't even out yet. You people really are obsessed with award shows, Billboard chart positions and sales.
