Wendy Williams firing her husband?

I'm surprised they made her apologize and that it turned into a big issue for her resulting in firings. Wendy's whole schtick is honest, unrepentant messiness, like someone's problematic aunt.

But, she really did step off the deep end with those comments. I'm honestly shocked she didn't have the good sense not to go there --- this was guaranteed to get her backlash. 

I do not support her comments at all, and while I understand the point she was trying to make (but ultimately, did NOT make), the comments were extremely poorly delivered and uncharacteristically foolish of her. 

Which, when you think about it, lends some credibility to the firings taking place. This never should have happened.

The question is, was it Wendy rambling on her own? Or was this a scripted bit concocted by her producers to generate buzz, and backfired massively?

Great point. Yeah, you really can't piss off your core audience like that, and her core audience is black women, so she can't really be saying that I suppose. I guess I'm just surprised because she's been saying outrageous **** for years (like being all Whoopi Goldberg about rape, saying Rihanna had STDs etc).
