The show aired Sunday, August 28 at 9/8 pm Central time (North America), and will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Beyoncé (nominated for 11 awards) took home 8 awards, including Video of the Year for her video Formation. Rihanna took home the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award for her contributions to music videos, and performed 4 times throughout the night in celebration, including opening and closing the show.
