They removed mid september from the article and we got the 3rd from a different place. The only thing that couldve possibly changed is it being exclusive. If she did an apple music interview, it can still get released, so can commercials and stuff. The only thing changing is the exclusive streaming.

If this happened some months ago then it would be perfectly fine bc the management would have plenty of time to re-plan a marketing strategy. Now they have to re-do it very very fast. I mean, I just see a pile of paperwork to do and other things like meetings, agreements, re-designing for example if they had created media only for Apple for example etc. Hopefully the plan doesn't have to change. And if it needs to be changed well, then I hope Bobby and the rest are good at their work under pressure.

If it was planned for Apple exclusive the two first weeks for example, it means that they won't have music available for people to listen/buy the two first weeks. If Gaga has planned a full promo with many interviews and performances the music has/should be available for the public. I'm guessing being such a big artist and with the potential of her "comeback" she needs well-made paperwork from other streaming services BEFORE the release date. They have to re-do the designs, or make new designs for promo, re-schedule many things. The only risk is that things won't run as smoothly as it was planned due to the pressure, which can have a bad impact for the people interested in getting her new music quick. Idk I just got ARTPOP release flashback, which stressed me a little 😅 This time she doesn't need things fücking up right before the release.

But then again, if they had a contract on this perhaps they'll let Gaga untouched. Hopefully.

I mean with how much money that's in the business it's not hard to pay a contract cancellation fee lol..

I'm sure they'd have the resources to actually pay it but if Gaga and her team had a big plan set in stone with Apple, which could potentially now be screwed up, why would they want to pay it? I mean that if it really could mess things up whoever is involved would probably want to fight for their original strategy.

I'm just speculating, none of us know the specifics of Gaga's deal with Apple, this whole situation could mean nothing at all.

Leak is not the only thing that can destroy an era :awkney:

I'm not talking about the whole era but how ARTPOP started. Aura leaked if you don't remember.

Aura leaked because they wouldn't let her make it the lead single, so she just leaked it.

She kept working on ARTPOP until a few weeks away of its release. MANiCURE, Dope (known as I Wanna Be With You), Sex(xx) Dreams and some other songs were different from when she performed them live on iTunes Festival.

hmm, read a lot of comments on ATRL about this..

not looking good, she obviously had a plan and now has to basically re-start.
frustrating and completely unprofessional.

i think that exclusives aren't always "convenient" but, they are great promotional opportunities for the company and the artist.

I could see UMG Interscope putting the ax on future exclusives but still writing-in an exclusion for Gaga and this release if she and her management had already put in the work with Apple to make it happen. Gaga is one of their biggest artists so it doesn't make sense that they would pull the plug and **** her over like that. But then again, it's business. :reductive:

but bumping this for people who don't understand why this could of potentially been a great exclusive -

"So what do you get when you partner with Apple Music, which boasts 15 million paid subscribers? A hefty advance, a dedicated marketing spend, premium placement atop the iTunes store, maybe a TV commercial and a Beats Radio show in addition to the less immediately tangible bonuses like additional paid media connected to the release, global exposure and barters that might incorporate social media campaigns. Says one insider familiar with Apple’s positioning: “They’ll literally throw everything they can at it. You can’t get to No. 1 on Spotify alone."

What are the benefits of having an exclusive Apple deal?

It's actually HUGE promo. Apple uses the exclusives in commercials, spots, etc. Apple gives the exclusives wide exposure on iTunes. Apple pays for a music video or stream.

you do understand that Gaga has nothing to do with this, right? Its her labels decision entirely.
