On August 25, 2001, the world lost one of its most promising artists, Aaliyah Dana Haughton. She was only 22 when she died in a plane crash, along with 7 other people, after filming her music video for Rock the Boat in the Bahamas. She was one of my favorite singers and she was on the verge of becoming a superstar. Her last album, Aaliyah, is still considered one of the greatest R&B albums of all time.

It really sucks when people die early in their careers. You can only imagine what would have been. It's like Gaga passing away after bad romance. RIP Aaliyah

I think that's what hurts the most, she had SO much potential, hell she could've been as big as Beyoncé, but we'll never know...
