The singer's rep responded to a query from EW Wednesday (August 24) stating that Spears would not contribute to Britney "in any way, shape or form ... nor does it have her blessing." The film is set to follow Spears' rise from the Mickey Mouse Club to international stardom and will include the parts of her career where she was heavily scrutinized in the tabloids. Those years in the 2000s when Spears couldn't seem to stay out of the spotlight will likely feature in the film, including her two marriages, her stints in rehab, and that time she shaved her head in front of the paparazzi. It's not terribly surprising that she wouldn't give her blessing to a dramatization of that era. Spears' disapproval of the project raises the question of whether her music will appear in the movie, or whether the filmmakers will have to work around copyright barriers like they did with Aaliyah's 2014 Lifetime biopic. It's hard to imagine a Britney biopic without "... Baby One More Time" or "Oops! ... I Did It Again" in the mix.
