The pop star has been sued by producer Alex Greggs over her song “One Last Time” and its alleged similarity to Skye Stevens’ 2012 single“Takes All Night.” David Guetta, Savan Kotecha, Giorgio Tuinfort, Rami, Carl Falk, Ilya, Kendji, Fedez, Universal Music, and Apple are also named in the wide-ranging lawsuit, according to court documents obtained by EW. Kendji recorded a French duet version of the song, while Fedez did an Italian imprint. “The choruses in the two songs use a similar melodic contour,” the complaint reads. “Although the rhythm of the two compositions may differ to accommodate the prosody of the lyrics, there is substantial similarity on the most important rhythmic placement of the pitches on strong melodic and harmonic beats (1 and 3), which are what the listener perceives as most definitive of melody and, to a lesser extent, the harmonic accompaniment to a given melody.” According to the suit, Greggs sent the defendants a cease-and-desist letter after hearing “One Last Time,” but received no response.
