The other categories I believe are fair. Like when Alabama Shake won over Florence on the Rock category I was like "wtf" but then I listened to their album and realized why they won. Not even trying to be flamebait, I think she is hands down one of the most overrated rappers of all time. I felt this way even back in her mixtape days i.e. Beam Me Up Scotty. Shes like alright, and considering her popularity it is kind of surprising that she hasnt won one yet. But im sorry dude, im much more in line with feeling good that the hack woman that made Anaconda did not win **** for it. Thank god.

If 1989 can get nominated, then so can that. Don't get me wrong, I think 1989 is a fine album- just, E.MO.TION did everything it was going for sonically, and exceeded, imo. Also, Florence + The Machine, especially for How Big How Blue How Beautiful. It was grammy worthy but come on.... Alabama Shakes deserved that win. Harry 26,836
It's super easy to say what artists "deserved" it, but there can only be one winner in each category so it becomes a difficult argument. E.g. I could probably pick out several great albums from each year that I'd consider worthy of AOTY, but literally only one album released in the entire world can get that title lol. As I said in another thread earlier today, it's shameful that Bjork hasn't won a Grammy yet. The majority of her releases are exceptional, she pushes the boundaries of creativity like few artists today. I'd love it if Lana ever won a Grammy, but since she likely won't ever be a commercial hit again it's unlikely. Born To Die's originality, influence and success combined show that she is a force to be reckoned with and should've been recognised, even if I think Ultraviolence is her best work. Also another one I just thought of is Jeff Buckley. One of my favourite (and imo most underrated) voices of all time. His only real album, Grace, is one of the best albums ever. Admittedly he died so early into his career that there was little chance for him to win one so it's understandable. But it would be really nice to see it inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame once it becomes eligible in 2019.

Even if not every song or album is a hit, we may have yet to see the best that she has to offer I guess but I don't think she will have any other HUGE hits after the whole Luke drama with Kesha. I dont really think she would want him to work with her behind closed doors anymore. Luke was the source to most of Katy's hits.
