I know you're joking and don't get me wrong but I actually can't help but think it's twisted how earthquakes periodically devastate Central Italy of all places under the sun. to me, that region is the heavens on Earth and it almost feels like nature's way of telling us we can't have too much of a good thing, not even in one of a few places where Western civilization has learned to temperately but exuberantly coexist with nature's splendor and abundance... and as bad as it may sound I do feel more strongly that it "had" to happen there. Some small places were devastated and destroyed, it's a catastrophe. Firefighters are working hard for saving entrapped people, hope they are still fine.
