It is Christina's third non-Christmas English language album and has gone on to sell over 1,710,000 copies in the US. Back to Basics is Christina's most critically acclaimed album with a Metacritic score of 69. Dot Music called it the album of her career, while Uncut said it was "psychedelically strange and outrageously entertaining." Stylus Magazine praised the album except for Linda Perry's involvement, "A truly soulful pop album, at least for one disc, Back to Basics is one of 2006’s best when Linda Perry’s fingerprints aren’t present." The album spawned five singles. The first three were released Worldwide, while "Slow Down Baby" was released in Australia and "Oh Mother" was released in Europe as fourth singles.
