SHE SHOULDN'T WAIT TOO LONG

people won't care about her.

I used to a lot and now, i could do without hearing her on the radio ever again.

Wouldn't make a difference.

A longer gap between albums is okay for veteran artists, but between freshman and sophomore albums? nope.

She made a big splash with her album at such a young age... That doesn't just happen for no reason. I guess she's taking her time to create a follow-up that's worthy. Probably trying to live her life as normal as she can alongside that. She seems very self-aware so probably knows what kinda stuff happens to teen stars who get caught up in the industry and that lifestyle.

Whether her second album is big or not could go either way. I would have never thought something that sounds like PH could've gone so massive. Royals certainly doesn't sound like a typical smash that sold as much as it did. I certainly have confidence that she has the talent to pull off a great second album, but whether it's received well commercially remains to be seen.

Pure Heroine is an overrated snoozefest

Everyone talks about this talent but what do you mean?

I mean at the time Royals was popular she was like 16/17.

I think she's got incredible potential that will lead her to do great things. Her lyrics are catchy yet smart at the same time, and she also tells stories in them, too. She comes off smart and I like her style cuz it's sort of a throwback to the gothic/new romantic thing going on in the late 80s in a way that's inspired as opposed to a retreading of it.

I honestly can't get into her musical or performance styles.

She also seems uncomfortable on stage which makes me feel the same. :duck:

In Canada, she had a couple hits.

Royals, Team, and Tennis Court was a bit big I guess

Magnets with Disclosure was also played a lot on radios

It's been three years since an album. Still waiting for that sophomore release.

Cute + Canadian, slay! :sis:

Pacify Him

Haven't heard of her in such a long time that when Royals was played on radio yesterday, I was bopping.

I think she's just really unique

Lyrically, she is next level, way above Gaga imo. Probably helped that her mother is a famous poet.

I like that she's genuine, taking it slow and you can really tell that she loves what she does for the sake of art.

Ribs absolutely slays my life.

I hope she says humble, real and is not self-conscious about her art on the next album.

Nah, she wasn't a one-hit wonder, she had a #1 single (Royals) & then a top 10 hit after that (Team), and then went on to win 2 grammys the year after. She even got chosen to plan out the type of music/artists for the Hunger Games soundtrack.

She's still young, so I think that she's just taking her time to perfect her 2nd album. I have a feeling it'll touch on subjects like fame & friendship. According to her insta/twitter posts, she might be releasing end of this year or start of 2017, so i'm really excited.

Pure Heroine was a concept album but also had catchy bops, and that's really unique and hard to achieve. Her writing is beyond excellent too, she's one of my songwriting inspirations.
