RadioIsOurs 13,876 Posted August 22, 2016 Share Posted August 22, 2016 I have been rewatching some scenes from Hotel with Gaga in it and tbh, I can't really find anything outstanding. It's serviceable. Just not award-worthy. It might just be that she doesn't have a lot to work with for her character. After all, she's a cold-blooded vampire. There isn't really as much emotional edge to her as, let's say, Fiona Goode. If Gaga really wants to show her acting skills, she needs a character that gives her more. But right not, she's no Jessica Lange. Honestly someone else in the show should have been nominated for the Golden Globes. That's just my opinion pls don't kill me... It was okay, there were a few moments that were amazing, but I'm gonna always look at Sarah P. and her acting throught the season. Perfection! Sure, she doesn't have the subtle nuances a genius like Lange has (yet) but she did represent the Countess perfectly. A being out of this world with quiet power that everyone fears. Music 15,215 Posted August 22, 2016 Share Posted August 22, 2016 i absolutely loved her scenes in the later episodes, especially in Episode 11, 'Battle Royale'. the final scene with Evan Peters and Mare Winningham at the dining table after her transition gives me chills; she doesn't have much dialogue in the scene, it's her presence. this presence is really what won many people over throughout the season, including the cast themselves. for example: "Gaga is an emotionally available actor, like Jessica. Super meh. It didn't give the actors much to play with, so I kind of understand the 'low energy' Gaga was giving. Heck, even Hypodermic Sally was a bit boring, and she was one of the more interesting characters. And while there were some strange line deliveries, which has more to do with experience than with actual ability, there were many moments (large and small) which were extremely impressive. She outacted seasoned professionals like Cheyenne Jackson and Wes Bentley, and held her own against the rest. Not bad for a start, if you ask me.
