Dorothy Gale 7,575 Posted August 19, 2016 Share Posted August 19, 2016 It makes no sense that Gaga would announce a single that's planned on being released in September, only to lie to us all and actually premiere it early at the VMAs. Little Monsters are doing mental gymnastics at this point to try and justify the possibility of a VMA performance. I know Gaga CAN be cryptic, but saying "September" might just mean September. I don't think Gaga wants to begin this era exactly like the ARTPOP era with a single announcement followed by a debut performance at the VMAs. Bobby and Gaga most likely have something else planned for promo that will more than make up for them missing the VMAs. I mean the VMAs are becoming less relevant every year now and debuting a lead single there worn ensure success. If Gaga has learned anything it's to not make promises she can't keep, and starting off the LG5 era with a false release month wouldn't exactly get this era off on the right foot. I think ads during the VMAs and AHS premiere might happen. I do think the iPhone 7 release date will coincide with Perfect Illusion, and Gaga will do a performance there in collaboration with Intel.
