Personally asking this question is like asking why Born This Way was black and white or why ARTPOP featured a lot of pink. And if you look closely, the only line that ever turns black and white is "Illusion". Why include such dark tone amidst all of these light colors? I think it may hint at the hidden darkness of the Imperfect Reality. Thus, we are brought back to the concept of duality which Gaga nails every time.
