Personally asking this question is like asking why Born This Way was black and white or why ARTPOP featured a lot of pink. I think that color can be thematic but that's not a cryptic message, that's just good design work.

And if you look closely, the only line that ever turns black and white is "Illusion".

Why include such dark tone amidst all of these light colors? I think it may hint at the hidden darkness of the Imperfect Reality. Thus, we are brought back to the concept of duality which Gaga nails every time.
