President Trump 3,508
Christina had a few legitimate hits but something awful happened to her. She somehow became completely forgettable. I think when her image changed into a bad girl in stripped, people paid more attention to her personality, and it turned out she was actually a really mean girl genuinely. So still talented, but not likable except for by a very SMALL part of the population. Then her voice is so demanding that people could only take so much of those grating roars. Her voice was meant for exactly what she became: a three-hit wonder. Voice better than one-hit wonders, but the quality of the voice and reminder of the person behind it does not deserve more than what it got. RAMROD 109,386
IDEK, she have 2 new songs this year, and doesn't smash. Back then, she was everywhere even with soundtrack song such as Car Wash
nikola 4,342
i would love if she had a comeback but at this point, i feel like there is no comeback for her........i have a feeling that she will become one of those artists that people will know about once they hear their name but just won't care much about.......... I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"
donutellha 13,819
Maybe if she manages to get a really good collab. Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.
freebit 6,240
She has no real momentum, so I don't expect her to comeback huge commercially. The best that could happen is if she releases a great album and pop lovers/the stan world gets behind it like they did with Carly's Emotion, or Robyn's Body Talk EPs. TropicOfCANCER 6,292
i would love if she does, but unfortunately/realistically i don't see it. i don't think she has the drive anymore to properly promote a full album campaign, which was a big issue with the last 2 albums, especially "Lotus"--she could've done decently/respectably with both albums but when both eras started off rough, she just gave up and cut her loses. "Just a Fool" even seemed like it was going to be a cute lil' hit, but no video and one performance! "Your Body" didn't even get an actual performance! (DAFUQ--if she performed it on the voice it could've been a top 10 for her!) So, promotion wise, i don't see it. In terms of the music itself, i'm still waiting for her to truly have that moment, critically. Based on "change" and "telepathy," i'm concerned about the quality of her new music, tbh. She's been SO quiet about her album so its tough to really gauge anything, but for now, i'm not getting my hopes up and do expect another flop era, sadly. StrawberryBlond 14,836
I don't know why we even bother asking ourselves this question. Nothing can save her now, not even a collab with a super generic crowd-pleasing DJ like Calvin or whatever. Anyone can get a hit these days if they go that route but she's just too far gone. Her fanbase grew up and moved on from her a long time ago and aren't the type to stream songs like crazy, which is what it all depends on these days. I mean, the music video for Your Body, her last lead single, has only 161 million views after just under 4 years and just 679,000 likes. Yes, Vevo views are so much higher now than they were 4 years ago (I mean, her collabs with Pitbull and Great Big World are much higher) but I still don't hold out much hope, especially seeing how low the views for Change are. This will be the longest album she's ever worked on. She never technically took 4 year breaks, it was 3 years and 10 months to be exact. Well, we're currently at the 3 year/10 month mark and there's no mention of an album title, no lead single, not even a confirmation that an album's on the horizon. If she couldn't take off after a lesser break between her previous 2 albums, what hope does she have now? I wouldn't be surprised if all the stuff that she said back at the end of last year (working with Pharrell, it's coming along nicely) has all been scrapped now. That was actually the most recent announcement that she was even working on music, but she faded out after that. There was even rumours as far back as 2012 that she was working on another Spanish language album after she released that Casa De Mi Padre song. But there's been no confirmation of that either. If she was indeed working on multiple albums, I could totally understand but I somehow highly doubt that's the case anymore. She does have a lot on her plate right now, though - The Voice, the new show due to start on Spike, she still hasn't got married after a 2.5 year engagement and she has a 2 year old to look after. Her private life is clearly being the focus right now. I really think she needs to stop with presenting tv shows and getting bit parts on tv shows and just focus on doing her day job of making music because juggling one job plus personal life is hard enough as it is without bringing in second and third jobs. I just don't think she has the passion for making music anymore. She wouldn't have gone out for The Voice otherwise. Singers who go on these shows do so because they've lost a big part of their drive for creating new music, the show serves to keep their income up and keeps their name out there. Any music that they do create while on the show is always sub-par and sometimes it's just a one-off single, an album never comes of it. Rita Ora did The Voice and X Factor and still has no album in sight. Lately, Christina's just been guesting on other people's songs and doing covers and it's getting laughable. Thing is, if she wants to prioritise her personal life, she doesn't need to worry about going on tour (she doesn't have the demand for that anyway) and she can limit promo to America seeing as it's one of the few places where she still has a fanbase of sorts. That way, she's never too far away from family. So, I don't know what's stopping her from releasing something right about now. She should just make music for the sheer joy of it at this point and not worry about chasing the charts. We saw her try to do that with Lotus and it resulted in her worst album, full of bland genericism that blatantly wasn't her but had clearly been forced by her label. She obviously took her time with this one to ensure it didn't happen again. I'm surprised RCA have kept her on their books, to be honest. After 2 failed albums, most artists would be dropped. The fact they're allowing her to take this long for a new album is quite unprecedented.
