Everyone my age is super annoying tho, when they post photos on instagram they always have some sort of drake reference. Like "views" or since it was the beginning of summer "summer sixteen". Lady Gaga released the ARTPOP app which was inspired by Björk's album app. Beyonce was recently caught out for using samples of different songs in her Lemonade album. Everyone does it! And Drake clearly loved what Beyoncè did and so he has used a similar concept in his album. Plus I don't think Views album was that much of a surprise, since he had been dropping singles including promo ones months before the album came out, but I get the idea that he did release it without warning.
