Gaga on Paparazzi @ VMAs: "This is the kind of artist that I am"

You know why? I think that was my first genuinely succinct and intelligent performance art piece. And I, to this day, really feel that was the moment that I said: "this is the kind of artist that I am".

 

Watching this again years after I felt curious about her statement on that performance. I mean, this was basically one of the points of her career that made me a fan, specially because I always thought it was the perfect combination of art, theatre, and dramatic vocals. But, a lot has happened since that Interview. She has settle down the outfits, the theatre, the controversy and has decided to focus on the vocals mainly.

Does she feel the same way still? Has she changed her mind? Are we gonna witness another art performance like this one from her on LG5?

Honestly I don't see her doing something like this ever again. Gaga is no longer "Gaga" in the way that we knew her

idk what will happen with lg5 but she always settles down during the pre-eras, it's just we didn't witnessed it that much since the pre-ARTPOP era was the longest we had cuz between TF and TFM there was no pre-era and BTW came right after TFM so we didn't have that much of a pre-era till pre-ARTPOP.

I've been feeling she's trying to separate herself from the Gaga persona lately, and that make me think that this is the first time that I truly don't know what to expect from her on LG5.

She's not in a real era ATM, I wouldn't be quick to assume the worst. Even when she was in a high point of her career in February/March she was pretty Gaga.

Great throwback, i remember watching it live from my TV set, and believe me when i say that i literally got scared of her, she was horrific but so intriguing! Me and my siblings were looking at each other when the performance was over and were like 'what did we just watch  ?' sadly we don't feel that now.....

In terms of looks, that's accurate, she doesn't give clues about how she's gonna transform into the next era. But I was talking about the performances also. She seems to be more passionate about showing her amazing vocals and rocking a guitar or her piano these days.
