You're talking about how Gigi should have known the laws and could of prevented this from happening by not going....DUH. This goes without saying. 

I bring the rape argument into this because many people point fingers at victims ("she should have known it was unsafe there" = "she shouldn't have been wearing that") when the conversation needs to be redirected at the aggressors. I'm not bringing rape into this for the sake of it - there is a clear similarity.

Your comparison to jumping into shark infested waters is completely wrong. Sharks are innocent animals, obviously it's not the sharks fault in that context...These airport officials are hateful and dangerous people following discriminatory and immoral laws and we need to focus on condemning THEM, not blaming the LGBT individuals who are being subjected to them.

Yeah or you know they're not villains like you have completely assumed and made up in your head and rather they are people just doing their job?

She knew it was illegal for her to be there in a country where homosexuality and being trans is illegal. They knew it. You knew it. I knew it. We all knew the fact that she's setting herself up for this traveling to the Middle East. 

Like best case scenario is that she goes undetected breaking the law. 

Look buddy, I'm a huge supporter of civil disobedience to fight Unjust laws as long as the protestors are not violent. However, I would not advise ANYONE to practice civil disobedience in a conservative Mid East country where the penalty for homosexuality is death!!!

Also on that note, you do realize that people who actually practice civil disobedience understand they will be arrested, right? That was MLK's whole thing.

Whether or not she or you or I are aware of the laws and repercussions does not matter, this is irrelevant to the point i'm making. 

Obviously we should advise LGBT individuals to avoid these areas, this goes without saying for obvious reasons. But when they do go, and are prosecuted under these immoral laws or even killed in some cases, our first thought cannot be "why were they there in the first place?" That question is pointless, frames the victim as the one doing something "wrong" and deflects the conversation away from what it needs to be - condemning these discriminatory laws, lawmakers and systems from existing at all.

My jaw litterly ****ing dropped when I saw this.  Personally my parents are born in Lebanon but came to Canada and had me. Every time I visit Lebanon, I cry so hard. I hate it there. People are so judgemental there, Especially when it comes to the LGBT community.I`m an untransitioned Transgender and I live in a trans phobic house so I understand her struggles. Thats why I dislike/ disapprove of the middle eastern.

She's not a victim, she willingly and knowingly broke a law and flew with a passport that was outdated. 

Your arguments are boringly dramatic and awfully flawed so I'm going to stop responding at this point
