Did someone say, Taylor Swift? :troll:

Taylor has one advantage over Norah and Adele - the country market is larger and more loyal.

She will evolve into Carrie Underwood, with a solid career but little relevance outside country.

She;s got young fans who vote her awards too.

Speaking of Carrie Underwood, I really like her song Blown Away and her performance on Sunday was really great.

Although, arguably, the core of Adele and Norah's fanbase are fans of country music too.

Adele is popular in Europe where country is nothing. And there are more crossover GagaAdele fans than Gagacountry fans.

The lesson seems to be that impressing the critics, adults and the power that be isn't a good recipe for longevity.

Better to have a passionate young fanbase. Better to have appeal as a celebrity and live entertainer beyond the music.

Leona Lewis was celebrated as the next great thing in 2007 ... but she was a WhitneyMariah clone just as their thing was going out of style.

In the US too?

And Leona could've been huge, but she dropped the ball.

I don't think Leona was ever going to happen tbh. She came in with such soulful R&B at a time when everyone was just starting to go crazy over dance music. Bad luck, I suppose.

I loved her first album... The second one was such a letdown

I don't think so. Her second album was just not good at all...
