Apart BTW song I don't think Madonna looked down on Gaga's other songs though... On the contrary she said that she finds Gaga is a very talented songwriter and vocalist... It was just the matter of ONE song...

Same goes for Tony, he attended to one of Gaga's Roseland concerts, I don't think he hates what Gaga does. It is probably just not his cup of tea...

Madonna acknowledges Gaga's talent and even namedropped her in Rebel Heart :reductive:

Just learned that she was seriously selected to be MJ's opening act and she might have recorded a duet with him ... And we'll never hear about it ever again

If that duet really existed I'm sure it would've been released on one of Michael's posthumous albums tbh

Gaga probably cancelled it, just like her other collabs with legends ala Cher.

Thank you for posting this link. I read through the entire thread and it's nice to gain some more insight on this topic.

It's funny seeing people say Gaga is a B-list and a "flash in the pan". :air::laughga:

How strange she never canceled any of her collaborations with Tony Bennett :poot:

I think we all forget how he was perceived before his death. Not that I agree with it but he wasn't hailed as the King but known as a child rapist (even though he was innocent).

He was still considered the king. His final tour's ticket demands were unprecedented, record breaking. He sold out 50 dates within seconds & sites crashed due to millions of people trying to gain access to the tickets.

It was calculated that he could sell out 200 dates for the residency, which would push up attendance of the residency to 4 million

He was subject to mass media denouncement as early as Thriller, it never ever hurt his success and demand & love from the majority of the public.

Tony is 90, people. You can't expect him to bop to Swine and do the Judas choreo, you're being ridiculous. :air: He's respecting her as an artist immensely, that seems more then enough.

And I don't think Madonna looks down on Gaga. I'm almost sure she was just faking it. I love Madge, I really do, but she does ike to play The Bad Bitch sometimes.

And about Michael, it's all really sad. I think he would have loved Bad Romance. I feel like they would have become the closest of friends even, if he didn't pass away. Just a feeling..

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Fun fact: Lady Gaga hired Michael Bearden, the musical director of MJ's "This Is It" final concert (and film of the same name), to be her musical director for almost all her ARTPOP era performances, including the artRAVE world tour.

But he heard Poker Face and was slayed by it!

He told reDone that Gaga was a genius for writting this song and he wanted her to open his This Is It tour :flutter:

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

She was supposed to open for Michael and I think they would have had a beautiful artistic friendship. Their personalities seem like two that would really mesh together.

I know it's a shitty fan thing to say, but one of the biggest reasons I'm sad he died is because I think the two of them could have done so much together for the music industry.
