I see your point. But do they torture and kill people from their own religion? Because Muslims die at the hands of ISIS as much as Non muslims. So what common factors do they share with Islam? In Sharia Law there's severe punishment for those who kill, whether the victim is a muslim or not. I'm not defending ISIS or neither am I defending Islam. I just don't see the correlations between them when it comes to the written act. An act of crime requires a passion. Whether it be a religious aim or not, these people are bound to kill. Sure, what grouped them was an idea of extremism but that their personally perverse view shouldn't have to be assigned to the one they derived it from.
