Rihanna & Tame Impala "Same Ol' Mistakes"

Not gonna lie, this song has become my daily obsession over the last week. It is everything I want LG5 to be. This is the gold standard I'm holding Gaga to for LG5. 

Rihanna was so smart to cover this for 'ANTI'... she needs to get her sh-t together and release it as a single ASAP.

 I happen to favor Tame's version, more than anything. Kevin Parker gives off a consisting 60s/70s Psychedelic nature.

It's the most lazy and unoriginal cover of all time. She literally just took the original instrumental and sang on top. That's called karaoke not cover.

It's odd because music wise she didn't change a thing. The vocals change the style a lot though.

BUT

I prefer a female vocal on this track. And she delivers. Plus, I am familiar with Rihanna's "aesthetic" or... "persona," if you follow.... Bad Gal RiRi, et al... And it makes for a better mental image of the vocalist when I hear it with her.

I also don't see this as Rihanna "taking" anything.... Kevin Parker was 100% a willing participant, who knew he just hit PAYDIRT by getting RiRi to cover his track. 

And best of all, she didn't even **** with it! Not one bit.

I love both.

Rihanna's cover has more "personality" to me, but Kevin Parker's voice vibes stronger.

Not  knowing it was a cover originally, this song could've made me a stan tbh. I was like "Rihanna did THAT!"

Now I love Tame Impala though

I love this track and it introduced me to Tame Impala. I love Kevin's vocal cause it gives me 10cc vibes and I love Rihanna's vocals on the track. Hopefully Gaga will have something like this on LG5

I was only teasing about not knowing Kevin P.... Ronson's 'Uptown Special' album was my obsession for MONTHS and "Daffodils" is in my top 3 tracks from it. I live for this!!!!!
