The Surrealist 27,470
This thread is about how Gaga changed her reputation in the span of 3 years. Let's start from the beginning. In 2008 this was the general public's view of Lady Gaga. A girl who made dance music for clubs and wears extravagant clothes. Moving on to 2009. Her career starts with the 2009 VMA performance. Bleeding on stage - shocking! Everybody focuses on her. 2010. Gaga created her own fanbase, the Little Monsters. Her fame rises, reaches a peak with Bad Romance. Then she wears the meat dress. Her status as a shocking artist is now manifested. Haters call her gimmicky. In 2011 Gaga arrives in a vessel for the VMAs. Weird and yet again - shocking! "Born This Way" gains a lot of haters, as she is compared to Madonna. Her feud starts and a lot of people turn the back on her. There was no major change to her public relation in 2012. She remained shocking. 2013. Gaga breaks her hip and is not seen for a long time. Shr wants to change her image. She appears much more toned down. Her new album ARTPOP doesn't get the commercial success everyone hoped for. Her manager leaves. Gaga has a mental breakdown. 2014. Gaga releases Cheek to Cheek. Her public image changes drastically with her new Manager Bobby Campbell. She is even more stripped down now. Singing Jazz. 2015. This year changed Gaga's image even more than before. The Oscar's performance for Julie Andrews qualified her for being taken seriously as a musician. She performs for Sting. Cheek to Cheek gets the best critical success in her career and she wins her 6th Grammy. Gaga starts her acting career with American Horror Story, for which she later wins a Golden Globe. 2016. Gaga nails the National Anthem, she gets a lot of praise. She solified her career as serious musician. Her Grammy's performance is getting mixed reviews and also the general public has a mixed view. Her Oscar's performance gets a standing ovation. A lot of praise again. Gaga disappears from the public eye for a long time. Her performance at the DNC is something really new. Folk and Rock music, some old hits, basic clothes, no wig, 'normal' make-up. What's next? If she releases a Folk/Rock album, she will work on her legendary status as a musical chameleon, but she will lose a lot of "Pop"-fans.

zakariah 11,718
I feel like she may never go back to wearing those shocking outfits anymore. She will only go as far as the really tall heels and maybe a head piece. But no more 'Meat Dress' kind of stuff.

Both of their vocals are beautiful but you hear Gaga belting and Tony singing in almost a speaking voice. Gaga and Tony's producers could've gotten more creative in production, so it's a matter of living up to the hype.
