ApplauseftAdele 4,730
Just my opinion, but I think that some successful artists are simply doing wrong for their career... here are some examples. Drake - One Dance, released in MAY, has not even gotten a music video yet, despite being #1 on Billboard for 10 weeks. Why wait so long? Sia - Cheap Thrills, hasn't gotten a real video AND now she adds that stupid Sean Paul feature that adds nothing to the song. Justin Bieber - Sorry , doesn't have a "real video"... it isnt that hard to film a video and Sorry would have maybe even gotten 1.5B or 2B views if it had a real video. But other examples, like Calvin Harris, Rihanna, Ariana waiting almost a month to release a music video for their singles... why do they wait that long? Why not just release a video the week after the single drops?? Beyonce - I honestly dont see the point in making everything Tidal - exclusive or Applemusic-exclusive and not releasing anything on VEVO. I get that you would make more money but is money really the problem here, or is it getting the messages in your videos accross huge audiences? i dont know this is just my opinion.... thoughts? venusfly 17,885
I dont see how any of these are bad decisions considering all of these were smash hits with the largest levels of success we've seen in the past few years
ryanripley 86,575
i would say a mistake is more telling kanye west that he can sing about you, and then when the song comes out, playing the victim only to be proven to be a lying snake by kim kardashian instead of not filming a "real" video https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ
Carsonu25 273
I feel like artists are scared to release a music video if it is not revolutionary and incredible. Not many are released and the ones that are create a large amount of popularity because they are so incredible. Or maybe they just aren't willing to pay enough to get into the music video game. I don't know, just my thoughts.

But if they announce it there is no point in having fans waiting... for example drake announced his music video in like May and it still hasn't come yet
Fernster7 7,922
I don't know but I honestly prefer the Cheap Thrills remix, in fact, everyone I know does. Monsters never die.

BuzzcutSeason 3,307
i like the cheap thrills remix it adds just enough to it Beyonce made everything title cuz of her cheating husband (who she shouldn't of forgiven in the publicity stunt) One Dance didn't/doesn't need a video but it'll be creating even more longevity
Chris Evans 8,917
for some reason their methods worked since all of those are smash hits That Iggy Azelea Fancy song wasn't an iTunes for a month after the video was released but it worked really well As for Beyonce- her/her team just want to make the most money (if you want to see/listen to the music you have to buy it) just like Taylor Swift you won't find any of their music on youtube unless it's on their VEVO because their team works around the clock removing every video from random users containing their music

Versace 7,959
Tbh the only bad decisions I noticed was Ariana not pushing Into You harder and Rihanna releasing Kiss It Better while Needed Me was going hard which made the song dissipate in flames sadly and omg Demi releasing Body Say on iTunes almost two weeks later after its release. StrawberryBlond 14,776
I don't see how those are bad decisions - they were all hits, so the lack of music video clearly hasn't hurt them in any way. Streaming is so big now that a music video is no longer required immediately to make a song a #1, which is a big plus. That's the one big advantage Gaga's going to have next era if she decides to take her typical sweet time with videos. And I actually like the Sean Paul remix, as I think it adds something to a song that has barely any lyrics in it and it really needed an extra push. I'm with you on Ariana and Beyonce, though. What I'm really against right now isn't the timing of the videos (although that is a valid point), but the lack of interesting content in these videos. They're just glamour shots for girls, boring dance video for boys. What happened to story telling?
