If Troy went on holiday with her he would have brought a portable studio with him. Bobby is a great publicist - great at marketing and re branding but from what I have seen he's meh at being the day to day manager of a top level popstar...he's made absolutely no effort to improve her streaming and never puts any pressure on her or gives her deadlines...what kind of major label manager encourages an artist to take a three year break after a flop?

One that truly cares about the star and her quality of life/well being. One that is a genuine friend to her. That, and she hasn't been on a three year break. As you said, she's been rebranding and she's been very active in that. Only a year after that "flop" album she released, she released C2C with the legendary Tony Bennett while still touring ARTPOP and then toured C2C for over half a year. Beyond that, she's had more than a handful of high profile performances, chief among them her critically acclaimed Sound of Music medley and the Super Bowl Star Spangled Banner, she's had a single with Diane Warren, and also a major acting role on TV. Oh, and during all this, she's been writing and recording music for her new pop album. A "three year break" is not a true reflection of the past three years AT ALL and I think Bobby has been very strategic as her manager to slowly change the Lady Gaga brand and GP perspective to build to the inevitable arrival of LG5.

The one that cares for his client's well-being.
