it's a surprise single that's going to build so much hype towards her lead single. And it being for the Olympics means it will have huge exposure. Debuting the mv on national tv the same day is just really smart I think. And I'm sorry but I don't remember Rihanna releasing a mv the same day as the release of a single. If I'm wrong, enlighten me.

Okay maybe not for the Olympics but Rihanna released Sledgehammer's video shortly after the release of that song. Also Anti (not a video but still an album) shortly after Work.

People have different types of release patterns, I think chart success depends very much on the quality and promotion. If Gaga takes on the conventional release for LG5, she will still succeed if she promotes the song enough and if the song is of good quality.
