and do they actually sing or is it modified with autotune at a studio and they prefer to use playback live?

also don't worry the same could be said about Mexican artists even though there's 2 or 3 pretty talented musicians from here

They lip sync A LOT, more than they sing live. But, a lot of artists sing live, and a lot don't. And kind of most of the time, they use playback. It's so complicated in the Arabic industry. Most Male songs are just about love, and that. Most Female songs are about love, and that. It's getting boring in Arabic industry. That's why this one blew up I guess. He changed the style of Arabic music in general, and now a lot of artists started copying him. Arabic music industry is not complicated, It's a tornado of mixed stuff. Trash, more trash, moderate, good and the best.

Basically what he said. All the songs sound the same. BUT. An arabic singer is an arabic SINGER. He will ****ing BRING it. At parties and concerts, it's all live and it all sounds phenomenal. It's the only good thing I find about music. That's why most male singers here are in their thirties and there aren't much young Justin Bieber like singers, because he'd be laughed off. You have to BRING it.

Edit: not to discredit what you said, malik, but I mean if you haven't been living here you can't know what it's like to see them performing live I guess :flop:

I live in an Arabic country, and I was born in Arabic country. But, I get what you mean, and kinda don't. But, don't take everything I said literally. Like, I said that's why it's complicated, it can be in between. Of course, most of the time they lip sync in performances in TV shows that are pre-recorded. But, of course, they sing also live, but not like English artists, all the time.
