ReidOne 12,427
I AM SO HERE FOR THIS!!! YAASSSS CALVIN!! I have had the BEST day following all this drama, you guys. I have been one of Calvin's fans since the very beginning in 2006 when 'I Created Disco' was just a 5 or 6 track EP. He is the greatest dance music producer of our generation. He's an immense talent. Taylor represents the worst of the worst in my opinion... She pits women against women, her "squad" is basically Mean Girls revisited, her live vocals are dire, and her "songwriting" is not all her own (most of her hits in the last 5 years have been Max Martin tracks). She's not the real deal and she does not deserve the adoration she receives. On top of all that, she's not even a nice person! I've heard countless accounts of her being rude, cold and distant to her tour crews. She ESPECIALLY should not be unleashing her publicist on TMZ to try and give the impression that Calvin is a fraud and not writing the songs he claims are his. She didn't come right out and say that explicitly, but that is the impression she is trying to leave. Calvin needs to be careful, because he has begun to look petty in all of this. HOWEVER, today, he pulled it all together! That Twitter storm was the perfect response. And invoking the name of Katy Perry was a stroke of BRILLIANCE. Especially on the heels of Katy hitting 90M Twitter followers and the "Katy gif Party" that happened last week on Twitter (which meant all the Katy Kats had their favorite Katy gifs at the ready). It was the perfect storm to unleash one of the most incredible Twitter parties I have ever seen: #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty !!!! Taylor has seriously taken things too far. She's made enemies of Calvin Harris (highest paid DJ/producer), Katy Perry (arguably, the most successful pop star of the last 10 years), Kanye (most successful rap artists of the last 10 years) and Kim Kardashian (the most famous celebrity of the last 10 years). Seriously, who does Taylor think she is? SHE HAD THIS COMING TO HER. I am living for this day!!! (Sorry, Gaga, I know we are supposed to be spreading kindness and I know that you've been "friendly" with Taylor via Tweets, etc, but I can't support you in this right now --- it's time to drag Taylor! Clearly there is a mountain of pop fans who were salivating, waiting for this day to arrive when we would all mobilize against her.) And before anyone drags me for this post, please take a moment and relive the disaster that was Taylor's attempt at "singing" alongside Stevie Nicks at the 2010 Grammy's:
uo111 5,265
It's actually crazy how jealous you guys get about female pop stars selling more than your faves. If you can't break up with someone without trying to ruin their careers (much easier to do to a nobody like Rita Ora than to a legend like Taylor, he is finding), maybe you shouldn't date someone with a career. Especially when they are more successful than you and you can't stand it.
ReidOne 12,427
Seriously, I have been waiting so long for this day! A full day of #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty trending nationally on Twitter?!?!!! I mean: Not exaggerating, I had coworkers coming by my desk ALL DAY to make sure I was watching what was going down, and others coming by to get the full explanation. My day has literally been filled with the GP checking in with me about the the epic dragging of Taylor Swift (by none other than my all-time favorite dance artist, Calvin Harris) and it's been delightful! This day has been one for the history books.

It's not the "celebrity drama" that I'm living for... it's the justice for real art and real talent that has me so hyped. Calvin has been my #1 fave for 10 years now. And Taylor has been my enemy #1 in the pop game since 2010. So to see him rally all of Twitter behind him is a HUGE win for talent today. Talent always wins. My life is not sad because of the joy I derive from this. It's enriched. Pop music is my #1 hobby and yes, I obsess over seeing my faves get the credit they deserve. I've been waiting for this day when the music-buying public is not fooled by Taylor's media manipulation anymore. Music not the bling, ETC #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty is happening with or without you @LDR ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

People I know are much more interested in that Pokemon game (lol), the racial problems and marches in their cities and what's going on in their life. No one I know would care about some guy tweeting silliness. Do you work at a kid's camp or something?

I work in corporate marketing as a social media manager and I sit beside our company's PR team, so we are all a group of pop culture junkies at heart. So they are very familiar with my passion for pop music (particularly Calvin Harris), Twitter trends, and my overall love of celebrity news (because they share it). So no, it's not a "kids camp", but I'm lucky enough to work with like-minded individuals.

ReidOne 12,427
And please, @LDR, check yourself before you call me "pathetic" ... this is STILL the #1 entertainment news story of the day! See receipts below from Google News. Screenshot taken just seconds ago. If this had been Gaga involved instead of Katy Perry, there would be hundreds of folks on here right now saying the same things that I am.

Ive always been able to see right through her. She comes across as fake and whiny, among other things. I could never understand her appeal. Yeah she does write decent pop songs but I never felt like she deserved all the praise. When she pulled her music off spotify because they offered a free tier, that just really made me dislike her more. Again not a fan of her personally but this to me was a big **** you to her fans. I understand artists need to eat but damn, this women owns multiple homes, is ****ing loaded, and she didn't want to put her music on Spotify just because they had a free tier because she wasn't making enough???? Thats ****ing greedy. How much is not enough? And I love how she tried to use the excuse of smaller artists not being paid enough. You don't do music or anything really because you want the money. You do it because you love it. The extra money is just a bonus. And plus artists shouldn't be directing their fight towards streaming anyways. They should be directing it to their ****ing labels. Google just came out and said they paid billions to music labels from their streaming service. And thats just from one streaming service. Taylor Swift pretty much owns her record label so thats even more money going towards her. But besides those facts again, she comes across as fake and a try hard to me. Her little ditzy acts she tries to pull just seems like bad acting for me. Something really fake about it. And clearly, its not me who just feels this way. How many boyfriends has she had in the past few years??? Something is seriously ****ed up with this girl and I am so glad she's finally getting exposed. It sucks doesnt it? But its inevitable because when you get big as she is, theres no where else to go but down. Look at all the greats, look at Gaga. Im just hoping she doesnt recover lol. And Kudos to her PR team.
