Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and The Chainsmokers are ruling the Pop charts in 2016.

The pop charts keep track of the songs that are played most on Mainstream Top 40 radio.

The figures below are based on the weeks spent in the top 10 of the pop charts in 2016

Only lead acts get credit, and if an artist has 2 songs in the top 10 in the same week it counts as 2 weeks.

The year is based on the Billboard Year which starts in mid-November

These figures will be important for Billboard's year end songs list.

Can't wait for Gaga to shake it up and usher a new mainstream genre

Selena and Chainsmokers make me happy.

But I want Gaga to bring us that Funk sound and thrust us back into the 70s so that mainstream music changes and with it we leave can leave the 90s behind us permanently as harispray, big hair and high heels for men come back:giveup:

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

I really hope that Gaga can bring back an influence to the scene. This sudden void of motive behind electronic beats is really stale. I hope she brings an 80's/70's funk aspect that's less about the sound, and more about how the sound is layed out. (I wish she'd get away from the same formulaic lyric style, but I can deal with that)
