Why does Gaga always imitate the style of people that surround her ?

Maybe because it's just fun and she loves to play with outfits. Does there really need to be a complicated backstory to everything she does? :awkney:

She looks up to them, likes their style and she's whimsical when it comes to her looks and dresses.   I totally get it and I'd do the same if I was in her place. It can also be taken as performance art, she has always called herself a blank canvas. Not sure why the question's being asked.

But some of these comparisons are absurd, tbh.

Is it on purpose? Or is it just coincidence ? Whats the meaning behind it ?

Larry King: It was just a fun thing to do, I'm sure she thought the viewers would find it intriguing and it would look interesting on tv. She was at that point where she was doing new things to intrigue people.

Yoko: Yoko would never wear a flowy dress like that or has her hair like that anymore :saladga: Not sure why this is an example of imitation, just for the hat? She always wears black suits and pants, which Gaga isn't.

Barbara Walters: I wouldn't say she's imitating Barbara directly.. I think she was in England and she tends to wear outfits & accessories from the countries she's in.

Marina: Tbh, it's just the hair. Marina wouldn't be caught dead wearing a bra and her boobs hanging out like that. :laughga: She also doesn't have bleached eyebrows.

I think she's easily influenced by people she works with and that she respects

This. She's always been this way.

I think she does it to show them that she respects them. She's done it multiple times throughout her career and I personally think it's wonderful that she does it.

I don't know why this look is so hated, I think it's gorgeous. Okay, the lacefront is not perfect but it's not that bad

Edit: I have just seen someone saying the same thing on a previous page, so ignore me :emma:

That was for the bloody tribute! It was a David Bowie tribute so you'd expect her to show up as David. I don't think a David Bowie tribute would be complete if she was in a Micheal Jackson costume

Well, I'm a bit disappointed in your lack of imagination (as if she couldn't have dressed up in a way that didn't reference any artist at all for a tribute, like countless of artists do constantly, incl. Lorde for Bowie's tribute), but anyway that's not why I posted it :emma:

I responded to someone saying: "she always looks better than what she is imitating". In that case I, and a significant amount of others, disagree.

REALITY

I mean, she's Gaga, of course she's going to wear costumes and outfits. She's just trying to be respectful and polite, and I suppose it has some purpose to it. It may symbolize some sort of artistic statement, or maybe she just likes whoever she's imitating.

You just pick up on things that you surround yourself with. :rockstar:

Like most people in this world.

Look at yourselves monsters. Especially when you go to a tour of hers

As a young artist she creates her own interpretation of the people she admires.

When she said "I'm every icon" she wasn't joking and these photos are one form of her many ways to show it.
