Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is expected to formally endorse presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, potentially ending tensions between the two and easing the concerns of party leaders hoping for a united front ahead of the nominating convention later this month.

The endorsement is expected to occur next Tuesday, when Sanders and Clinton will appear together at a rally in New Hampshire, Democratic sources first told NBC News on Wednesday.

Sanders all but confirmed that he would endorse Clinton in an interview with Bloomberg on Thursday.

“We have got to do everything that we can to defeat Donald Trump and elect Hillary Clinton,” he said, adding that “I don’t honestly know how we would survive four years of a Donald Trump [as president].”

After repeatedly pledging to continue his campaign until the convention, the Vermont senator has appeared increasingly open to backing Clinton in recent weeks.

Because of Sanders’ initial reluctance to drop out and cede the race to Clinton, party officials were concerned Sanders’ supporters may not unite around her, jeopardizing her chances in the general election. Recent polls, however, show thatmany of those who backed Sanders are slowly coming around, and his formal endorsement next week may further seal the deal.

“At the end of the day, we’re going to be united,” Sanders said Thursday.

Yes Bernie.. know your place..

While I agree, I think I'm going to be less critical of Bernie in the days to come assuming this report is accurate.

Perhaps he may turn out to be Hillary's best ally in the days to come.

It's accurate. I don't know how to share videos but he confirmed last night on MSNBC on "All in with Chris Hayes". He was asked and his response was to say how well they were getting along and all the progress they've made policy-wise. Chris flat out asked, "so you're not denying the reports?"

Bernie said, "no"

And people think Bernie and his supporters have an ego.... It seems team Hillary is equally full of themselves.

I know, to think people went for Bernie and his supporters for their ego and then they say this.

People with egos don't admit that they could do things differently.

I wish people are as good as @Majora in that. Some of GGD can stand to learn.

Not supporting Hillary because some of her supporters may act a certain way is no different from not supporting Gaga because some of her fans get under your skin.

It's funny how the same people who presumably like Gaga when she's put down as much or even more than Hillary can't do the same for the latter.

Just saying.

The whole campaign just reeks of "vote for me or else, you have no choice so fall in line and know your place" and that's why people like Bernie because it's not like we were forced to vote for someone we don't like and he was going AGAINST the establishment that is telling us to get in line. It might not be rational but if you tell me I have to do something, there is about an 80 percent chance I won't. And I think a lot of people feel the same. It's why comments like that rub me the wrong way.

Look I'm not going to lie I can see how you can get that impression. I hope you read this reply in full.

You can easily get an impression that it's the case with all the anti-Trump postings and the general gloom and doom, but frankly I believe it's actually how you CHOOSE to view it.

Nobody is telling you or the general public to fall in line and know your place. That doesn't apply to you. It's only said about Bernie because he IS her primary opponent for the Democratic platform. It's a responsibility he needs to deal with for the sake of the party.

The fact of the matter is that the presidency will only be occupied by either Hillary or Trump. As far as we know, unless there is some coup in the Republican convention, that's exactly what's going to happen.

You have the choice to be a deciding factor between Hillary and Trump.

You can protest and vote for third party or abstain completely, but ultimately that is surrendering. It is surrendering all control you could have had over the presidency and not taking part in deciding who is going to represent you.

Now it's not my place to force you to like someone but I frankly find it hard to believe that you find Hillary so distasteful that you would be comfortable risking a Trump presidency in order to stick it to her.

I'm also not going to argue what you believe an establishment is, but history has shown consistently that anti-establishment mentalities never leads to anything because humans are inherent anarchists and even the most noble goals become twisted over time. Look at the Arab Spring and the Latin American governments for example. If you want to be cynical, look at the USA based on how you view it.

In any case, the point is that people aren't forcing you to vote for anyone. They are simply reminding you, sometimes in an aggressive manner, that it is truly a choice between Hillary and Trump.

From a practical perspective, not supporting Hillary is equivalent to supporting Trump because unfortunately most of the Democratic base is younger and those tend to be more passionate and stubborn. For every person on the Democratic side who refuses to vote for her, there's one that favors Republicans who will vote for Trump regardless because that's what they historically do. Voter turnout tends to lean Republican. That's all there is to it.

So it is truly not in your best interest to not support Hillary because it is imperative that a Democrat be in office in order to get a chance of a lifetime to boot out the Republican majority, instate a progressive leaning Supreme Court, and cement the MANY recent advancements that have been made in both social and economic fields.

Not voting for Hillary just because you somehow find her repellent despite the fact that she hasn't done anything to you to warrant that and simply because some of her supporters can be overbearing is not a, and pardon me for saying this, mature way to treat the decision regarding who will represent you for four years.

Ultimately nobody is responsible for your choices other than yourself.

You also have to live with them.

Lovely, although it would have been amusing if he hadnt and the democrats had split into two, allowing Trumplusconi to win.
