Loretta Lynch Says No Charges For Hillary

U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Wednesday said the Justice Department has decided not to pursue charges against Hillary Clinton or her aides and will close the investigation into her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.

“Late this afternoon, I met with FBI Director James Comey and career prosecutors and agents who conducted the investigation of Secretary Hillary Clinton’s use of a personal email system during her time as Secretary of State,” Lynch said in a statement on Wednesday. “I received and accepted their unanimous recommendation that the thorough, year-long investigation be closed and that no charges be brought against any individuals within the scope of the investigation.”

Not exactly news but this is the official decision and it effectively shuts off any attempts to appeal it before Comey's testimonial to congress later today.

I'm a supporter of Hillary's policies, but she broke the law. Whether she intentionally did it or not, she did break many very serious laws. I don't get why the FBI and Loretta Lynch came to this conclusion..

She did not break laws she broke rules.

There is a huge difference in connotation.

She would have likely been prosecuted regardless had there been evidence she intentionally leaked information or would have been prosecuted for her negligence had there been evidence of consistent security breaches.

Neither applies so there are no charges, and there is historical precedent for this so Hillary isn't receiving unfair treatment here.

Considering the fact that many Republican leaders have demonstrated the same negligence and have not been prosecuted (nor had investigations really), I think people need to let go of the "fairness" mindset and realize that it's actually unfair for her to be singled out here.

FBI 2016: "FBI investigators have also read all of the approximately 30,000 e-mails provided by Secretary Clinton to the State Department in December 2014 . . . 110 e-mails in 52 e-mail chains have been determined by the owning agency to contain classified information at the time they were sent or received. . . . The FBI also discovered several thousand work-related e-mails that were not in the group of 30,000 that were returned by Secretary Clinton to State in 2014."

Hillary supporters to this point have been lying just as much as she has. They've been telling us that no, there was no classified information that she send or received, and that it was all retroactively classified for political reasons as part of the "Republican attack machine". 

Lie.

We were told that Hillary turned over all her work related emails, and to trust her, and that she wouldn't withhold anything from the investigation. The FBI found THOUSANDS of emails that shouldn't have been deleted, and three of them DID contain classified information at the time of sending/receiving.

Lie. 

And finally, this: "Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information."

This statement for the FBI, coupled with the fact that no repercussions were taken, proves Hillary Clinton is above the law and here supporters are actually celebrating. Disgusting.

Hillary did not believe she was sending emails with classified information. The emails were retroactively classified by the FBI. Therefore she did not lie.

So there is NO repercussion for a Secretary of State that breaks the rules? You think that being (and I quote) "extremely careless in handling very sensitive, highly classified information" is just a rule that can be broken without any punishment?

If she were just a State employee, she would have been fired and prosecuted. If she was under oath for nearly ANY of her interviews this election cycle, she would be tried for perjury. She's a pathological liar.

Had she been still Secretary of State, this is grounds to fire her. She can still receive financial sanctions, and even have her clearance revoked. Of course the latter is not going to happen because that would be singling out Hillary among the many Republicans who have done the same thing and received no equivalent punishment. Not to mention this is literally the only time she broke the rules (as we know) and it does not override decades of service.

Stop trying to imply that Hillary is receiving unfair treatment when this entire investigation to begin with has been nothing more than a witch hunt.

Honestly MJHolland why are you so insistent that Hillary receive punishment but are not calling for the hordes of Republicans from Rice to Powell to Bush to be investigated for the disproportionately more serious offenses?

It says it in the goddam report that you obviously didn't read. I just pulled the quote because I know you aren't good with information processing skills or critical thinking.

Those were just the three emails out of THOUSANDS that shouldn't have been deleted that happened to contains classified information AT THE TIME OF SENDING.  It says so in the ****ing FBI report but you're too thick to even admit it now.

They deleted millions of e-mails. That's a far more blatant offense than having a server.

Also don't dramatize the fact that it's insecure as if it's any less secure than the State Department. You know nothing of Computer Security so sit down.
