They're losing and desperate to show that they're still a threat even though their ranks are being dismantled, their cash is running out, their leaders are all either dead or stealing money from the organization (I don't know what else to call it), and they're losing ground in nearly every country they occupy. ISIS is falling to its knees and trying to hide it the only way they know how - gutless attacks on innocent people. These people did not deserve to die...no one did. The killings will end though. My heart goes out to everyone whose blood is needlessly spilled. Whimsical bitch

Not to be overly pessimistic, but ISIS is hardly the only terrorist group out there. We're not near of out of the woods by any measure. As for Western countries, we still have thousands of supporters here who can wreak havoc. And if ISIS fails, who knows, they might pledge allegiance to another, or just create new splinter groups. I mean, we still have Nazis running around even though Nazi Germany fell 71 years ago...not to mention all the fun new reasons people will find to kill each other in the future. I just felt like "we'll always be in a constant cycle of murder-justice-murder-justice for as long as we exist" wasn't exactly a nice thing to say even though it's pretty much true Spoiler Reality is cold. I much prefer the warmer delusion that we'll eventually live in peace. Whimsical bitch

I think this is just the new reality when it's easy for a few to kill many using easily available tools and technology. There will always be people who do these things for whatever reasons. But the death toll from these events isn't a fraction of the death toll from cars, or even doing home repair. So as long as we don't let ourselves live in "terror", it won't be the end of us. Edit: Unless technology keeps progressing to where its easy to get/make nuclear material, then it might really be the end of us.
