she's actually doing better commercially than Beyoncé

Singles wise, yes. Albums, no. Beyonce still has her beat.

Now if only Gaga would come through with both singles and albums with LG5 that would be great

Guys, please remember to stay on topic. If you would like to talk about Rihanna's lyrical content or anything else, feel free to make a new thread. And don't fight about it if there's no reason to :air:

All I know is that her team made a bad decision going for stadiums. They put the tickets on sale before the album, hoping it would be enough to sell them. It's a common route when an album is going to be experimental, to make it look like it's more successful than it is. Perhaps it worked to a degree. But it certainly didn't last long as the album arrived not long after and gained a very mixed reception and a lot of fans didn't like it. So, news of reduced prices started coming in and some venues had to be downsized to arenas and 2 stadiums had to be cancelled completely. I'm shocked that more haven't been cancelled, in all honesty. If she'd stuck with arenas, her audience would look so much better and no one would be calling her a flop. I have no idea what her management was thinking. She already did a lot of stadiums with her last tour and it was her highest grossing tour yet. With that in mind, doing stadiums again the very next time is unthinkable. I know time has passed but you can't do back-to-back stadium tours, it's just not happening. She's always been an arena act, that's just the way it is. That European leg looks as if it was dreamed up by a fan, not a team of touring professionals. She's going to have to do arenas from here on out if she wants to continue with her dignity. I think this does indeed prove that anyone can fall from grace and that your success can only last so long. Lately, it seems like anyone's in a rush to call anyone who isn't their fave a flop, but they then get punished when their fave flops too. This is a tough time in music right now. So many are struggling. But in a way, that puts everyone on the same level, so there can potentially be less fan-infighting.
